Reconciliation

As a Catholic, i confess my sins to the priest who mediates with the Father who then has the divine authority bestowed upon him by God to absolve my sins. Therefore, during the Sacrament of Reconciliation (during which i confess my sins), i am in fact conversing directly with God.

Conversations with God at Confession

Today, at the Penitential Service at IHM, the Sacrament of Reconciliation was great for me because it was a perfect time to meditate upon the mystery of the Cross once again before i seeked the Lord's forgiveness amidst all my imperfections. The Confession was just simply uplifting for the soul, just as if i have just gotten out of a refreshing cold shower on a sweltering afternoon and put on a new set of clothes.

And humbling.

All i could think and feel was...

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well
Your Spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again

Amazing love how can it be
That You my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
And it's my joy to honour you
In all i do
I honour you

Dear Lord, thank you for enabling me to share in your gift of love once again and please continue to mould me more and more into your likeness this Lent.
