Perfect love vs Imperfect love

On the advice of No. 7, I turned to 1 Corinthians 13. I was thinking: This is so cliche, I've already read through this chapter hundreds of times in the past, and I know what it's gonna say. But I flipped to it and read it and prayed about it anyway...

Sometimes, God still uses the most often used/quoted phrases and texts from the Word to remind us, admonish us, uplift us, and reveal His love for us. And 1 Cor 13 did exactly that for me.

Human emotions easily get the better of people... of me. But the Perfect Lover had this to say:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, not pompous, it is not inflated,
it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. LOVE NEVER FAILS."
- 1 Cor 13: 4-8 (NAB)

Lord, teach us to love like You
Purify our love for one another
Teach us to love others as You love us
Empower us to love the unlovable
Let us love in Your perfection
Above all things, let us love You
Amen
