He can heal your wounded soul, and calm the storm inside..

Hi everyone..

Thanks for all the affirmations, encouragement and prayers throughout the week. Those nice, smses in the morning or on msn...etc. Really made a lil bit of heaven here on earth for me!

It has been one hectic week!A quiz on tue, 2 presentations and a report due on wed, one presentation and a report due on thu!(today!)...I have officially completed 2 out of my 5 modules! And with exactly 2 weeks to the end of exams...Let the celebrations begin! (haha..for easter lar..still gotta mug..zzz)

It's been so hectic that it's been hazy to even recall it being Holy week, apart from timely reminders from a few friends, and attending mass on Mon. Particularly, one particular brother K***Y from SFX! (*cat calls from MSC!) I didn't even realise that today marks the end of our season of Lent! So to those who read this in time, don't let this special time of grace go past us.

"Let's take time to reflect on the true meaning of the Eucharist and Christ in our lives and our holy mother church.Don't let this experience pass us by without having an impact and 'resurrection' in our lives as we die to our old selves, sins and habitual sins, after this time of reflection and cleansing in Lent!" - adapted from Ken's sms(the Lord speaks thru sms too k? high-tech! =p)

Anyway, back to the title of today's post.. "He can heal your wounded soul, and calm the storm inside"...

Have you ever tried to quieten yourself, to bask in His presence only to realise that in that silence of your heart, there's actually LOTS of noise? All kinds of thoughts, distractions, start welling up like a storm? - This has happened to me a lot this week, without taking the necessary time off to quieten myself, to stop thinking and taking charge, to let go and let God.

Also, i realise that we're a heck of a wounded people. Lots of anger, lots of feelings of injustice, our struggles with sin, our pride, and most of all... our inability to recognise all of these..
Sounds once again like the crowd 2000 years ago? I realise that it's indeed a grace and blessing to be able to have our flaws and weaknesses revealed to us, and our realisation and acceptance of it, and then realising that.. Hey..i think that piece of flesh that was torn off Jesus's back by the whip was cos of me! (pardon the explicit description) It's only with this realisation that we proclaim Jesus's death. That He didn't come to die for us for nothing. That His will, choice to walk that road to calvary was not in vain...only for this little, insignificant realisation of His love for me.

For all those times of laughter
In every hopeful prayer
When the world weighs on your shoulders
Through sorrow and your despair
With everything, with every breath
Praise the Lord
Have a wonderful lenten pilgrimage tonite and Easter celebrationon Sunday!

Ahem...the catechist says, "Last day of Lent is Holy Saturday. The Church doesn't rejoice till Vigil Mass."

Right... that was a bit of pedantry:P
Know what you mean about looking forward to Easter, even if Heaven's in our hearts! (Have had quite enough of "trembling" already.)

Bring on the Resurrection, Glorias and Alleluias!!

yikes, discovered my mistake. better clarify before i mislead others!

Just checked it up and here's what Fr Joncas, an adjunct professor of liturgy at the pontifical institute says.

"The Easter Triduum is not part of Lent. It is three days of waiting after 40 days of preparing. While the Lenten fast is done in the spirit of penance, the Easter fast of the triduum is done in a spirit of anticipation — much like the bride or groom who can neither eat nor sleep in the days before their wedding. Presumably, Holy Thursday's Communion is the last food we take until we break our fast with the Easter liturgy."

So while Lent ends Maundy Thursday, Easter really doesn't begin till the Easter Vigil Mass is celebrated.

This only applies to the Roman Catholic Church. Other Christian churches like the Orthodox and Protestants have slightly different calendars.

God bless, xl:)

the "tremmmmbbbbbbbble" bit reminds me of my old parish priest at SFX. he used to warble it with the hokkien-mando accent every single year. lovely priest....but very tickling accent
God bless his heart.
