With our hands lifted high

Thinking back on the rally, and how it has turned out, i'm really lost for words.

But somethings did trouble me...

I was for a while really really getting frustrated with how things were going...

"why can't they move faster?"
"alamak, screw up AGAIN!!!"
"hey, use your brain, use your brain!!!!"
"wah, until now still cannot get the props set up correctly!"
"eh, can't u hear that your instrument is flat? Did you even tune it?"
"wah lao... this kinda thing until now u still dunno..."
"hoi! What's going on?!!! Wake up wake up!!"

And my list of complaints during the rehearsals goes on and on... i'm sure if i recorded it all down, i could fill this blog.

But then, 2 hrs before the rally began, i went for confession with Fr Brian. It was noisy at the auditorium as the bands and choir were doing a sound-check. I just felt i had to go... And all Fr Brian said was, "Receive God's blessing and graces... Be a light to others..." This reminder to reflect the light and love of Christ really shook me.

"Clement, why be a Martha AGAIN? All you have to do is to sit at my feet, and listen to my voice. Not by might, not by power, but only by my Spirit shall all be done..."

And with that, came the realisation of my folly... like No.1 says... reliance on my own strength... Like in the chorus of "Thank You Lord",

"But it goes against the way I am
To put my human nature down
And let the Spirit take control
Of all I do
Cos when those trials come
My human nature shouts the things to do
And God's soft prompting
Can be easily ignored"

And so as the rally proceeded and came to fruition according to His perfect plan, I am still realising the fullness and PERFECTION that HE has brought about... and how privileged I am to have been allowed to be a part of it.

So all i can sing is:

"And with our hands lifted high
We will worship and sing
And with our hands lifted high
We come before You rejoicing
With our hands lifted high to the sky
And the world wonders why
We'll just tell them we're loving our King
We'll just tell them we're loving our King"
The Lord gives, the Lord takes away, Blessed be His Name!!!!
