Questions, realisations and more questions...

The Church was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord, and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit it grew in numbers.

- Acts 9:31

This is taken from the first reading for Saturday 6th May '06. The phrases that are bolded struck me the most... and questions began to swell in my mind...

Have I become numb to the wonders and miracles that the Lord works daily in my life?
Have I become complacent and hence unable to appreciate and marvel at His deeds?
Whenever I sing "Lord, I'm amazed by You", am I really in awe and amazement of His glory, or merely singing empty words?
Has my inability to stand in awe of Him prevented me from doing His will, from knowing Him more, from loving Him with all I am?
Has this caused a retarding of my own spiritual growth, and that of my peers and community?

Have I, in my belief and confidence in my own strengths, abilities and gifts, neglected to seek guidance and inspiration from the Holy Spirit?
Have I been seeking the consolation of the Holy Spirit, or the Holy Spirit of consolation?
Have I been soldiering on for Christ without realising that it is He who carries 99% of the weight of my cross?
Has my inability to surrender to the Holy Spirit caused a lack of spiritual growth in me and thus caused me to be a barrier to my community's growth?

Unlike the other postings, I have yet to come to a resolution to these questions.

But all I know is that, "in all things, we conquer overwhelmingly through Him who loves us." - Rom 8:37
