Be It Unto Me

Hello Everyone!

Long time no see! I'm almost in the verge of being ex-communicated! haha.

Anyway....I want to share 2 things with you all today. Faith and Mary's Obedience.

To know Faith AND living Faith to me I would say are 2 different things. I can tell you that living out Faith is a hundred or maybe a thousand times more difficult than just knowing what Faith is. If you are going to allow for example, emotions to kick in and confuse you, you will find that without Faith you will just blame everything around you and just be very hurt. Just like in the Gospel on monday where a woman who was suffering from bleeding for 12 years was healed because she had Faith in Jesus.

Some of us may think......hey! I place all my Faith and trust in God....but things still screw up. Have you all read the parable of the prodigal son? Luke 15:11 The Faithful older son was so angry with his father that he celebrated the return of his younger brother. But his father said to him, "you are with me always, and everything I have is yours." And in the same way, in our many pains and sorrows that we face daily, we sometimes create this anger towards God and blame Him. Our God does not want to cause us pain. He just loves us so much. It's only when we experience this love our Faith will grow. This love cannot be understood but only experienced.

God left us with many promises. I think there are over 300,ooo or 30,000 promises by God in the bible(correct me if i'm wrong). But anyway, my point is, there are so many promises that God made for us. Which He will do! Again....Jesus is asking us to believe in Him.

Some of us ask things from God and want it to happen. And when it doesn't go your way, you just distant from Him and be very angry cos you were hurt. This things can be material or spiritual. Whatever it is, this is what God says to His Faithful servants in John 14: 13-14, "And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father's glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it."

As I was saying, God's love must be experienced and not understood. I can tell you personally that I'm totally awed by how God loves me and is moving through me. Everyday i'm praising Him cos He's so wonderful and beautiful and magnificent. He has given me this amazing life to live...what more can I ask? There's actually nothing we can give in return to God for the many things He has given us except one thing. Give Him your heart, that's all He ask for.

Lord, I thank you from my heart for giving me this amazing life.
I want to praise You Lord for You are so wonderful.
You are a Magnificent God.

For those of you who feel God hasn't done anything for you, please call me or leave me a mail.

When we live in Faith....we can be challenged and complicated. Just like how Mary was complicated when the angel Gabriel approached her with God's offer. She said YES! "Be it unto me according to your word". Can you imagine the kind of joy God experienced when He heard Mary say yes! Likewise, God has many offers for us. Can we handle them without complications?

I'm sure Mary may have had many ideas and expectations about what her life would be like. We all do. We knew she was expecting to marry Joseph. And then this angel shows up with a message from God that lays out a whole different plan for her future. Mary is the ultimate example of a life dedicated to God's purpose. Mary puts God in the pilot's seat. Can we live out that kind of faith today, and walk in submission to God. True worship, True adoration, gives God control.

You promised us joy like a river,
Lord we receive it from you
These things you have spoken
And you're bringing to pass
This world's disappearing
But your word will last
Be it unto me
According to your Word
According to your promises
I can stand secure
Carve upon my heart
The truth that sets me free
According to your Word O Lord
Be it unto me

Hi,

Just a little addendum on John 14: 13-14, "And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father's glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it."

It's not adequately explained to the faithful enough and people do misconstrue. So if I may, let me clarify it a little.

I am sure we all realise that when we pray in Christ's name, we have to pray like Christ. That is, to ask for the things He would will such that the Father's glory is revealed.

That would preclude any self-seeking intentions on our part be it spiritual or material. Or else, even if our intentions are pure and other-centred, what we pray for may not be in accordance with His will. For instance when Peter offered to build 3 tents up on Tabor during the Transfiguration. Good intention but not what Christ wanted.

What then are the prayers that Christ has promised He will ALWAYS answer? There are too many to list, but we can be sure of this: We pray well when our hearts are aligned with Christ's, when our wills surrender to His will, when our prayer is His prayer.

So put on Christ as St Paul says, and pray constantly. Allow Christ to be incarnate in us and then we shall be able to know how to pray, what to ask for in Christ's name and be able to pray that the Father's glory be revealed through His Son.

That is what Our Mother did every moment of her life.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

No.1! u're finally back in action! haha! Thanks for that lovely post and reflection! we must introduce that wonderful song to the group soon! *winkz

Thanks for the sharing xl. Abt Gal 2:20 and 1 Thess 5, "no longer i who live but Christ who lives in me" and "Pray without ceasing". These 2 messages have been coming to our community over the last 2 weeks, also at the SACCRE Leader's formation through Rev. Fr Gino.

I agree about uniting our prayer with Jesus's. Some ppl say, when u are 'holier', 'more of your prayers get answered'. As if, if u walk closer with the Lord, He's more likely to give you what you want. I agree this is often miscontrued.

The fact of the matter is that when we walk closer with the Lord, our prayers change! No longer "I-trouble"( in the words of Fr Gino), self-centred prayers, but prayers that are centred on giving the Lord glory! Prayers that He'll definitely answer anyway! Just as long as we ask of it. Indeed, this comes full circle to the Father's love. He loves us so much that He wants to bless us, answer our prayers, more abundantly than we can ever imagine!

God bless!
