Unravelling the Prayer of Jabez in my life..(1)

A short simple 4 -lines of prayer..Highly reccommended. Do go read it! (by Bruce wilkinson)

Shan't kill the wonderful content in the book by telling u abt it here. But more of a personal testimony of how reading this book and praying this prayer has changed my life.

This first post shall be about the first line of the prayer: "Oh, that You would bless me indeed"

This is the reason why clem and i did so well at sch last sem.

"When was the last time God worked through you in such a way that you knew beyond doubt that God had done it?" - an excerpt from Chapter 1 of the book by Bruce Wilkinson.

Breakups from a stable relationships (for 3 of the rhinos, all in the span of 2 mths), myself overloading the sem with an extra module, and my mum going into hospital a week before exams. Humanly impossible, definitely.

Yet, praise the Lord! i got the best results i've ever gotten in NUS, even got on dean's list. Indeed, the Lord blesses us beyond how we could even think of asking. And poor clem, for varying reasons in those trying times, skipped tuts and lectures like nobody's business.. and still got a CAP of 4.0!

Indeed, i don't really feel that sense of great achievement or happiness given my results(as i always dreamt i would if i had that results) then i realised the reason. Because it's a realisation that those results were not my doing, that i couldn't have done it, but it was entirely Him and His intentions to bless us! I was filled with a deep sense of awe and gratitude..

Sounds selfish, out of this world to pray that the Lord bless us? That it seems that we only pray / worship Him to get what we want in life? Definitely not..

There's the difficult/misunderstood(refer to clem's post)/discouraging yet enriching and fulfilling parts of my testimony that follow..
