words just ain't enough
We're back!!
Hi everyone!
The toil of exams are finally over. It has been a real struggle and act of faith to LIVE out the gospel, to live in the NOW, that NOW is the appointed time. (yes, now, even though it may be 1 day away from the exams and the last thing u feel like doing is to drag yourself down for mass, or perhaps to entertain a thought "Perhaps its ok if i skip my youth group session this week, they'd understand")
Nonetheless, it was a wonderful time of community and studying with my west side cell ppl (u know who u are!) Starting the day with breakfast, heading to the lib to mug, breaking for lunch, back to mug, dropping everything (books, pens...n what not..) and heading for mass when the clock strikes 530pm, having dinner, then heading back to the lib to (guess wat?) mug again till they play some super exciting music, in the words of Andre('70s romantic music) to chase us out of the library.
Over the months, i guess many of us in Zion's Joy would testify that this community has become an increasingly integral part of our lives, with the implementation of the sharing groups, allowing us to break the word together, share our joys, struggles and to be united with each other in prayer. This energy that's present, an inexplicable bond - my best guess would that its a foretaste, a culmination of us sons and daughters of the kings of kings starting out on a journey in service and worship of our God, for eternity. Now imagine that!
I realise that being united in prayer, covering each other in prayer, lifting up a member of the community for a specific intention during our QT, creates a special bond in a spiritual realm, that you enter into the Lord's time, where journeying in faith together may bring two souls closer than spending 5 years of 'earthly hours' watching tv with the same person.
In this same way, though the 4 of us rhinos are increasingly taking on differing roles, yet complementary in God's divine plan, fellow servants in the Lord's vineyard, the kinda support we get is less of a physical, feel-good, togetherness of brotherhood or as we like to call "semangat!" but one of prayer and connectedness in the one and same spirit of God, which surprisingly, is what was sustaining and nudging us forward all along! I guess its only in hindsight, that such seemingly insignificant events in our lives, like being activated in 2 days to lead 1000 boys in worship at a school, how when we're open to God shifting us around to take up His positions in His plan, saying yes to God, making definitive choices for Him and in the process giving up little sacrifices, may actually be a significant event in the Lord's time and plan. Kairos - or more affectionately termed as a Kairotic moment. (as ah pun would rant. =p)
Let's continue to live in the now, oh wait, that begins when we decide. =)
"Lord and master, You continue to draw us to Your purpose. Guide us with Your spirit, that we may continually be moulded in Your image and likeness, to take on Your heart of love to serve others around us. That we may be open to receiving and encountering You more each day."
