Times of change
Hi all!
It's been a while! Indeed, our community in Zion's Joy is undergoing times of change, with the stepping up of the new core team, establishing of Sub ministries, Worship, Logistics and Multimedia (L&M), Intercessory and Outreach! As well as forming our Sharing Groups!
Let me first extend a warm welcome to one and all who have come forth to journey with us! It's indeed a blessing and joy! Also, kudos to those of you who have stepped up into servant leadership as Sub-Ministry Heads as well as Sharing Group leaders. These are all baby steps in achieving our vision where every member is fundamentally a youth leader and a passionate disciple of Christ!
I do understand that some of us may be feeling a little uneasy bout the many changes that are taking place, coupled with the many challenges that life throws at us, be it in the forms of problems at work, assignments, tests, exams, deadlines. However, i feel strongly that this times of change in Zion's Joy is necessary and that if you're not feeling challenged, put out of your comfort zone, realising a need to step up in commitment, then that would be a cause for concern!
Rendering ourselves to God's will, allowing Him to shape us, mould us, move us to take up positions in His battlefield is always going to be uncomfortable. From being 2nd in the frontline, behind the armour and protection of a fierce warrior, is definitely different from being called to be that warrior yourself. To stand in the frontline, with the armour of God (Ephesians 4), fighting a battle that has already been won more than 2000 years ago.. Are we ready to answer that call?
I recall Fr JJ's homily, that there was a proud dog owner, that the owner could stand in another room, with the door closed and the dog on the other side. Just having to call the dog's name, and when you open the door, the dog leaps into the arms of the owner.
As God's chosen race, can we follow in the footsteps(or paw steps for that matter), to take that same leap into the unknown room, as long as we know our Master is on the other side, calling us to Himself?
"Lord, though i may not know where You may be leading me, i do not need to. Because i know, You know the way. And that is sufficient for me. "
